Diese Woche geht es bei den Daring Cardmakers um Karten, die uns an schöne Zeiten erinnern. Ein Thema, das Dawn sich ausgesucht hat – auch weil sie momentan ein bisschen melancholisch ist.

Mein Werk ist nicht direkt eine Karte geworden sondern aus etwas stabilerem Material, es ist eine CD-Hülle. Hinein soll eine CD mit Fotos von einem Ausflug nach Amsterdam vor ein paar Wochen. Wir haben uns dort mit Freunden die Banksy-Ausstellung im Moco-Museum angeschaut und haben uns ansonsten durch die Stadt treiben lassen.

This week’s Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge is all about sweet memories. It was chosen by Dawn who is currently feeling a little melancholic.

I didn’t exactly make a card but used a sturdier material, I made a CD-cover. I want it to hold a CD with photos of a day-trip to Amsterdam we made a couple of weeks ago. We went there to see the Banksy-exhibition at the Moco Museum and just enjoyed drifting through town for the rest of the day.

Wir hatten das Auto etwas außerhalb geparkt und sind mit der Fähre zum Bahnhof geschippert. Das hatte auch was – ganz besonders bei der abendlichen Rückfahrt, das war schon seeeehr stimmungsvoll!

We had parked the car at a little distance from the city center and took a ferry to the central station. A great way to come there – and to go back in the evening: veeeeery atmospheric!

Tja, nun ist es schon September und endlich kommt der Sommer… Mein Foto für die monatliche Elemente-Inspiration bei den Daring Cardmakers war eigentlich dazu gedacht, noch so ein bisschen Sommergefühl in den statistischen Herbst hineinzuretten – dabei ist das plötzlich gar nicht mehr nötig! Ist aber auch schön, oder?

Mindestens drei Elemente sollten sich auf eurer Karte wiederfinden, wobei die Farbkombi nur als eines zählt. Ich habe mich für Farben, Layout und Bäume entschieden – bloß der Sommer ist mir irgendwie abhanden gekommen…

So, now it’s september and summer has finally come to town… my picture for the monthly Daring Cardmakers elemental inspiration was actually supposed to preserve a little of that summer feeling – and suddenly it’s so hot outside that the picture isn’t needed at all. But that’s great, don’t you think?

Choose at least three elements from the photo to feature on your card, with the colour combo counting as one. I went for colours, layout and trees – and lost the summer along the way…

Diese Woche dreht sich bei den Daring Cardmakers alles ums Häkeln. Gar kein leichtes Thema für mich, aber dann habe ich zum Glück diese Doily-Stempel gefunden, also quasi Häkeldeckchen.

It’s all about crochet at the Daring Cardmakers this week. Not an easy theme for me, until luckily I found these doily-stamps in my stash…

Purvi hat sich diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers Karten mit handgezeichneten Elementen gewünscht. Ich hatte leider nicht viel Zeit und so ist meine Karte recht einfach geworden. Ich habe mit einem runden Acrylklotz Distressfarben auf’s Papier gebracht und diese Kreise zu Ballons gedoodelt.

This week’s Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge was Purvi’s choice: she asks for cards with doodled elements. I didn’t have much time so mine has turned out rather simple. I used a small round acrylic block to transfer distress ink to my paper then doodled the circles into balloons.

Leo hat sich diese Woche bei den Daring Cardmakers Karten zum Thema Spiel & Spaß gewünscht. Und da ja heute – von vielen heiß ersehnt – die EM startet, war für mich klar, dass das Spiel natürlich Fußball sein muss. Poldi vor! Noch ein Tor! (Oder wer auch immer.)

This week’s challenge at the Daring Cardmakers‘ is fun & games, chosen by Leo. With the Euro 2016 starting today the game obviously had to be football. The lady may look Scottish but she’s cheering for the German team: go Poldi, go! (Or whoever.)

Diese Woche hat Sharon sich bei den Daring Cardmakers Karten mit ganz viel Goldglanz gewünscht. Also flugs mal in der Schublade mit dem Blattmetall gekramt und mich an schlichtem Glamour für alle Fälle versucht.

This week at the Daring Cardmakers‘ Sharon asked us to make cards that feature gold heavily. So I searched my drawers for some sheet metal and tried to create some clean and simple glamour. The text on the card translates “made it” so that it can be used for a variety of occasions.

Diese Woche hat Jo sich bei den Daring Cardmakers Karten gewünscht, bei denen mal keine Blumen sondern Blätter im Mittelpunkt stehen. Ich liebe diesen Blattstempel von Inkadinkado aber ich habe ihn noch viel zu selten benutzt!

This week at the Daring Cardmakers‘ Jo has asked us to create some cards that feature leaves prominently. I love this leaf-stamp from Inkadinkado but have used it far too little so far!

Diese Woche sind bei den Daring Cardmakers Karten gefragt, auf denen sich Text in einer Sprache findet, die wir sonst eher nicht benutzen. Da ich ständig englischsprachige Stempel benutze, fiel das schon mal aus und ich habe mich stattdessen für französisch entschieden.

Der Text bedeutet soviel wie: Es ist überhaupt nicht notwendig vor der Kamera zu stehen um sich (bzw. seinen Charakter) zu enthüllen.

This week’s Daring Cardmakers challenge is to use text in a language that you don’t usually use. As I use so many stamps containing english language I didn’t consider that an option and went for french instead.

The text roughly translates: It’s not at all necessary to be in front of the camera to reveal yourself.

Sharon hat sich diese Woche Karten mit Wasserfarb-Effekten für die Daring Cardmakers Challenge gewünscht. Ich habe mal wieder einen aquarelligen Streifen mit Distressfarben, Acrylklotz und Wasser gematscht. Die Karte hat neulich ein Kollege zum Dienstjubiläum bekommen.

Sharon has asked us to make cards with watercolour effects for this week’s Daring Cardmakers‘ challenge. I made a watercolour style stripe using distress inks, water and an acrylic block.  The card was for a colleague who recently celebrated his 40 years on the job.
