Ausflug in den Orient
Heute habe ich zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben afghanisch gegessen. Freunde hatten uns von dem Restaurant erzählt und so haben wir uns heute gemeinsam dorthin begeben. Der Laden wirkte auf den ersten Blick eher cool-stylish in schwarz und mattem rot aber im hinteren Teil gab es noch so eine Art „orientalische Kuschelecke“ mit niedrigen Tischen und massenhaft Kissen in rot und goldgelb. Als der Kellner uns mit den Worten „Alles cool in Kabul?“ nach unseren Wünschen fragte, war ich allerdings doch etwas geplättet. Es war saugemütlich, aber die Shisha (gab es in etlichen Geschmacks- richtungen, sogar Cola und Lakritz waren dabei) haben wir uns dann doch gespart und stattdessen im Garten noch ein Käffchen (bzw. in meinem Fall wie üblich Wasser, da ich nicht so auf Heißgetränke stehe) getrunken.
Today was the first time that I have tried afghan food. Friends told us about the restaurant and so we went there together to give it a try. My first impression was of a rather cool and stylish place with lots of black an matt red, but in the rear we found a kind of „oriental cosy corner“ with low tables an loads of red and golden yellow cushions. I was somewhat flabbergasted when the waiter asked if we desired anything else to drink by using the words „Is everything cool in Kabul?“ The place was very homely but we still decided to abstain from the sheesha (the choice was amazing – they even offered cola- and liquorice-flavours) and went for a cup of coffee (or in my case: a glass of water as I“m not keen on hot drinks) in my friend’s garden instead.
